Coffee draws people together. It’s relationships – first dates, work meetings, lunches with friends and family – and those relationships mean the world to us.
So much so, that we’ve built a whole life around coffee, bringing different cultures from around the globe straight to you and your cup.
We have a long-standing partnership with our coffee roaster, who really understands what we are about and what we want for our home and wholesale coffee customers. We spent countless hours tasting coffee from all over the world, every variety under the sun, and it’s helped us to develop a unique range of special coffees that our customers love.
We’re talking coffee to suit every palate; dark roasts to light roasts,
everyday coffee to speciality coffee, single origins to blends, and everything in-between. We like to spoil people and add a bit of luxury to their day-to-day, whether it’s at home on the sofa, or in a café.
We’re also talking Fairtrade, organic coffee beans, because it’s not simply about the incredible taste. As a registered Fairtrade distributor, we are passionate about producing the same tastes and selections as we have on our regular lines, so we have matched these blends with ones grown under the Fairtrade certification.So much so, that we’ve built a whole life around coffee, bringing different cultures from around the globe straight to you and your cup.
Where possible, we look to form direct and meaningful relationships with our farmers by working closely with like-minded importers. Those beans are delicious, but we know they come from parts of the world where people are often struggling. These farmers are the best in the business, and we like to help make sure make sure they can make a real career and a better life out of coffee.
Once we’ve sourced our coffee beans, we begin the journey of creating their roast profile (a favourite part of the job). It’s a bit different to a dating profile, but it does show our wholesalers, and customers if they and a particular coffee are ‘meant to be’. Plus, with tasting notes, region information and background on the farmer, you can be sure of what’s in every sip.
At roasted, we’ve got everything you need – coffee beans, cups, chocolate, tea, coffee equipment, knowledge, and barista training. We can even help to give you a happy conscience.
We cannot abide stale coffee. You are not a late-night diner in a movie. You are not a roadside garage. You and your
customers deserve a luxury experience with each cup. We are sticklers for quality. We make sure our freshly roasted
coffee beans are into your cup as quickly as possible, so you can enjoy the best possible flavours from all around the world
wherever you are, with every sip. Every bag of beans has a date stamp and batch number marked on them too, so that
you can tell exactly where and when they were roasted.

You shouldn’t have to fly to the mountains of Costa Rica or sit on the streets of Italy to enjoy exceptionally roasted coffee. We thought Brighton and its surrounding areas deserved it too. That’s why Richard founded roasted in 2006.
He’d spent several years supplying wholesale coffee and equipment to businesses in London, but everyone who knows Brighton knows the draw of the city. That sea air brings passion to life, just like our perfectly roasted beans.
Just like the coffee plants that our business is built around, we have grown steadily and organically since then, with the help of our dream team (meet them here). We are an accredited Jura partner, specifically selected for our devoted customer-focused approach to business, and we’re proud to be a wholesale coffee supplier for Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
We like to add a bit of luxury to your coffee experience, whether the person is drinking it on the sofa at home, on the go, or in a café, having lunch with friends, getting a bit of work done, or about to shoot off to the office. And even for the barista making it. You can feel and smell the roasted difference, and you’ll see it reflected in your customers too.
We don’t knock any socks off when it comes to the prices either. We think everyone deserves to enrich their life with great coffee. And that everyone deserves the finest service, which we pride ourselves on providing at every turn, to every customer. Hopefully that is already – or soon will be! – you.
We’re a pretty easy-going bunch here, but we’re strict about ethics and we never compromise on our values. We understand that not everyone has an easy time growing and harvesting specialty coffee, and we want to support others in their dreams of building futures from the plant and drink that we all love so much. So, we always promote and supply Fairtrade orientated products wherever possible.
Our roasted Godfather, but really nice, with zero mob connections. He’s all about strategy and people, overseeing and knowing everything that’s going on – even what everyone fancies for lunch that day. Also, family holidays in France and Spain, scootering in the park with his daughter Jessie, golf, snowboarding, BMXing, and travelling around Asia. Richard starts with a latte, progressing to a flat white, then rounding off with a cortado. At the weekend it’s a proper ritual, weighing, timing, and adjusting shots – Luke and Max are very proud.
Our resident coffee wizard, whose ginger and chilli mocha in an edible cup earned him the title of M&S Barista of The Year and kickstarted his journey into the specialty side of coffee, first developing in-house training programmes, then at Brighton cafes. He’s competed in prestigious national competitions, coming 3rd in the UK Latte Art Championships in 2015, and now as roasted’s Head of Coffee, he’s in charge of coffee sourcing and quality, and first -class training. A video game and movie nerd who loves cooking and long walks in the countryside, Luke’s go-to is a pour over using the V60.
Brighton born and raised, Max spent some time travelling around Australia and once he got back, he discovered his love for coffee & worked his way up from Barista to Trainer. He was headhunted by Richard to be our Account Manager and licensed Coffee Trainer because he always pushes for quality and looks after our customers in a way that knocks everyone’s socks off. He’s also a qualified chef who loves cooking, eating out, hip hop, studying theology, skateboarding, and finding a new whisky to drink – when he’s not sipping an espresso or Single Origin as a pour-over.

Our Workshop Manager/mechanical wizard, with an Aladdin’s cave of knowledge of all things coffee. Our parts and service department is a new beast since Duncan came on board. Luke and Max weaned him off sugary coffee, and now it’s usually a long black coffee on his desk. “Work to live, don’t live to work” – that’s Duncan’s motto. That life includes hot air ballooning at festivals, sea kayaking, cycling from Bangkok to Saigon, and cooking lots and lots of tapas.
Our very own Moneypenny who keeps us all on track, and our customers blown away with first-class, seamless service. Nicole is also your go-to person for advice on houseplants, 70s rock music and which true crime documentary to watch next. She didn’t even like coffee before she came to roasted, but Luke introduced her to properly made coffee and now she can’t start her days without an iced latte in her garden.
Our rockstar of a Warehouse Manager and our in-house agony uncle, with all the gossip. Raf is a part-time personal trainer, part-time barista, and full-time coffee nut. He spends his mornings shaping surfboards in his studio and hits the beach to kite surf whenever he can – usually with a macchiato in hand.

Raf can’t imagine the roasted warehouse
without her, and neither can we. Gemma
grew up helping her mum run hotels, so
she knows all about what it takes to keep
things running smoothly. She’s got a big
family that keeps her on her toes too and
an adorable rescue dog called Luna who
lives for walkies. We’re still gently trying to
turn Gemma onto coffee as she’s
currently more of a tea lover! But we don’t
hold it against her.

For Macy, it’s always an Espresso, a latte or a dirty chai.
Another Brighton native, who keeps allour operations cogs moving behind the scenes. Daisy is a big believer in everything happening for a reason, and we’re over the moon that after a brief stint in Australia, the universe brought her to us. Daisy loves our roasted family and our oat lattes for the same reasons – they’re comforting, warming and they bring out the best in her. As does hanging out with her family, watching musicals, and hitting the gym.
Our vans don’t have names yet, but they probably should. Two
of the more famous members of our team, they are always
seen zipping around Sussex and Kent, always on a mission to
deliver the best coffee and related products to roasted fans.
Unlike the rest of our team, they run on diesel, not our delicious
beans… but we’re working on that…
Really can’t fault Roasted Coffee. I emailed to ask for recommendations on coffee
beans based on my personal preferences and they were very swift to reply! Must
mention Nicole Freeman for her continued help and for recommending the
Espresso and L-Style blends which I must say are now a favourite of mine!
