Behind Every Cup:
Founded on the slopes of the Shanta Golba mountain, Daye Bensa
is a community-focused business, actively working to improve the
farmers’ living situations and standards, providing 20-30% more
than the average amount for coffee producers, and an off-season
payment on top of the harvest fee. Also, providing basic school
materials for the students in surrounding villages. Coffee in this area
grows under the natural shade canopy of native trees, and cherries
are separated by village, with coffee kept separate throughout
drying, processing, and storage. For this lot, 381 smallholders
contributed cherry.
