Our friends at Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest independent brewer, have a tradition that can be traced back to the foundation of its brewery in 1698. The brewery has over 300 pubs across the South East of England, characterised by rural village pubs and suburban community pubs. They range from food-focused destination houses and historic coaching inns to traditional locals. Many of these offer accommodation in superb village and coastal settings.

Through an internal review of their tenanted houses Shepherd Neame identified that improvement was needed in the provision of hot drinks and more specifically the coffee in their food-led tenanted houses. roasted were given the opportunity to spend some time with the brewery to really understand their requirements and through this collaboration the Coffee & Ale House brand was born.

Working closely with our friends, we created a brand that is unique to Shepherd Neame with a logo instantly recognisable across the many places it is seen... be it on a menu, coffee cup or A-board. Also, a range of premium coffee offers have been designed to work with different types of pubs within the Shepherd Neame tenanted estate.

After assessing the needs of Shepherd Neame’s various tenanted pubs, it was discovered that these busy food-led pubs needed a quality coffee offering that was easy to operate and maintain.

Consequently, we agreed to provide the French Press Portion Control Grinder with Cafetière coffee makers for their lower-volume sites, premium coffee with reduced equipment costs, and the Jura Giga X3 Bean to Cup coffee machine, which makes a range of high quality coffees at the touch of a button, for their higher-volume busier sites.

Our ability to cater for all types of business requirements is one of our real strengths and we look forward to a continued partnership with Shepherd Neame.
